Reflection

Writing was never one of my strengths nor was reading. It was always challenging to me, but I’ve

always seek ways to improve my abilities as a writer. I have always been a thinker and while in this class

I’ve retained a lot of information, especially writing for different types of audiences.

This class wasn’t as challenging as i thought it would be but due to some issues personal it interrupted the way i

wanted my assignments to be done.  I honestly think i procrastinated a lot for some of my assignments and didn’t

put much effort into it as i should. Some of the videos the professor provided were helpful but sometimes i felt like i

get writer’s block. At times when I’m writing a paper depending on the topic my paper comes out find with a

moderate flow. For instance, I had somewhat of a hard time differentiating a rhetorical analysis paper and a research

paper. I swear my paper was good but when i got the feedback , which helped in understanding where i went wrong,

but couldn’t seem to figure out how to change the paper where it gave my audience a better understanding as in to

what the message was.

As we moved forward the group projects was fun to do i guess because i had really good members in my group

that understood what was needed to do done and assisted those who may have had difficulty understanding how to

start in certain assignments. At the ending we all created a group chat as a reminder of whatever we had a project or

assignment due  we all pitches in our thoughts and assigned each member a part to focus on.

One thing I can tell you that also helps are when you peers review and comment on your

work. Not only does it help you see from an outside point of view, but it lets you know where

you may have made a wrong turn.

My last paper was a bit challenging. I did my research and also tried to remember how the professor said he

wanted the paper written. Luckily we were able to write drafts and he wrote comments to help us understand where

we went wrong. When I wrote it i thought it was gold but after getting the comments i realized i lost my audience.

My Professor was very efficient. The way he explained things made it seem like a piece of

cake sometimes. He was prompt on answering emails as well as very helpful even when I might have gotten stuck

,even though i felt like i should have bothered him more so i could have gotten a better understanding on some of

my writing.

Overall, this class was very helpful. Even though sometimes I still struggled a little in putting things in order, I

finally have a better concept on how to write a thesis, how to write to particular audience and genres.
